Immanuel strives to reach out with love and service to our local and regional community. We host various events for our local community and support local and regional organizations with service and donations.
MorningStar Mission in Joliet serves the community in many ways. Their annual Jump on the Bus program provides hundreds of children with every school supply they need – from pencils to tennis shoes. At Immanuel, we have supported this program for many years by collecting donations of supplies which are used to fill backpacks with everything a child needs for school.
We will be collecting supplies in the church lobby through Sunday, 7/17.
USB flash drives
TI scientific calculators
Binders – 1 inch
Pens – blue, black, red

On each of our visits, we are humbled and thankful for God’s blessings on this ministry. Our next visit is TO BE DETERMINED. Everyone is invited to join us – we leave Immanuel about 10:45am and are back to Mokena by 2:00pm – please call Barb at 708.995.5375 if you are interested in joining us.
2022 Serving Dates: To Be Announced
Families took adorable pictures with the Easter Bunny and brought donations for a local animal shelter!
Immanuel's quilting group meets the second Friday of the month at 9 am to work on quilts which are used to bless many organizations. Members also work on projects at home, making tops and backings that are assembled when they meet together. New faces are always welcome!
We collect donations from our members of non-perishable food items, paper products, and gift cards which we pass on to the food pantry. We usually hold a food or paper products drive in the spring and fall.
We participate in this organization's annual Stars of Hope program -- our members purchase and wrap Chirstmas gifts for a child which are then distributed by Morningstar Mission. We also assist MorningStar Mission with their Jump On The Bus initiative by collecting donations of supplies to fill backpacks for children in need.
Once a month, a group of Immanuel members travels to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Chicago where they assist in serving lunch at El Comedor Popular soup kitchen, located in the Pilsen neighborhood. This amazing organization feeds both the bodies and souls of those they assist. (Unfortunately, these visits were cancelled when the pandemic began. Hopefully they will be resuming soon.)
