LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF is our new congregational global mission project. Lutheran World Relief tackles global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being. Their goal is to help people build self‐sufficiency and create new community‐owned approaches to problem‐solving that will last long after their projects end. This weekend the Board of Stewardship will share some brief highlights of LWR’s work and collect a free will offering in support of this organization.
PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED & PLANNING FOR 2019 VBS HAS BEGUN! Vacation Bible School for 2019 will be the Concordia program "Miraculous Mission - Jesus Saves the World". To hold this program next summer, we are in need of two important positions--a VBS Program Coordinator and a Registration Director. Once we have these volunteers in place, the VBS Program Coordinator can choose the week in June that would work best for her/him. We usually hold VBS either the third of fourth week in June.
If you are interested in serving the Lord for either position in this most important outreach to children in our community, please contact Nancy Kaczmarczyk at 708-478-1042 for more information.
IMMANUEL WOMEN SAVE THE DATE: Save the date for the LWML Lenten Inspiration on March 30th at Christ/Orland. The theme is: SERVING THE LEAST OF THESE - Matthew 25:40. The registration form is in the February Items and also on the LWML table in the narthex. (Click Here to Register Online)
OUR RED LETTER CHALLENGE BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED!
The challenge is unique because it takes Christ’s literal words and gives you practical daily challenges based on those words. It will give you targets to shoot for to help you measure how you are practically following after Him. To anyone who's interested, here's some info about the Red Letter Challenge that will start in a couple of weeks here at Immanuel, at the beginning of Lent.
Pick up your copy Mon-Fri in the church office or from the lobby after Saturday/Sunday services with a suggested donation of $20. https://www.redletterchallenge.com/
